SCHOOL IMMERSION

The programme brings Summer Study Camp into another level, moving away from the usual English study activities. Participated students will have the chance to immerse into an educational environment in a local government school in Singapore.

The programme will be conducted at Anglo Chinese School (International), one of the top 5 schools in Singapore. ACS (International) is famous for its mordern facility, high class enrollment and international education environment.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the camp, students will be able to develop themselves in the following areas

LANGUAGE

Improving English conversation skills with all activities are conducted in English by foreign trainers.

PERSONAL

To develop students’ personal effectiveness (Leadership qualities – Self-confidence – Commitment – Determination – Communication).

FRIENDSHIP

To provide an invaluable opportunity for participated students to widen their social network, making new friends from other countries.

Programme Outline

Students will have the opportunity to visit various places of interests in Singapore and this will help them understand the cosmopolitan nature of Singapore. Local NUS students will be facilitators to interact with and host these students. Within the above attractions, these were the highlights:

  • City Tours: Sir Stamford Raffles – Merlion Park/ Esplanade – Singapore River
  • Singapore Garden by the Bay
  • Golf Lesson with 19 holes mini indoor golf court. BQQ @ East Coast ParkCity Tour
  • Universal Studios Premium Package: students will be one of the first to fully enjoy the highly anticipated attraction.

  • The Living Classroom @ BirdPark
  • Singapore Discovery Centre – Make your own Pizza Lesson.
  • Vivo City – China Town – Bugis Street: Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, China Town Night Market
  • Singapore Sport Amazing Race : In collaboration with Singapore Youth Olympic Committee, the Singapore Sport Amazing Race is a series of games and exploration activities which inspire students about the importance of sports and the spirit of the Olympics. Students will go through a guided tour about the history of the Olympics, see-n-touch a huge collection of Olympic items, make their own colourful Olympic torch, try-on real Olympic games and having fun with Singapore’s folk games. On top of that, we also invite Singapore’s successful Olympians to come down and talk to our students about their experience & journey to achievement.
